▀ SOUND CONVERSION/SOUND RELEASE: She has the ability to transduce sonic vibrations, which reach her body into various types of light. For example, a car crash and a symphonic passage of equal duration will both produce usable music incoming acoustic vibrations. Dazzler, however, does prefer the sound of music, particularly that which is rhythmically sustained. Not only is music more pleasant to her ears, but the steady beat of popular music provides a more constant source of sound to convert. However, she cannot use any sound produced by her own body. In addition, she has the ability to release the absorbed sound in one burst.
▀ LIGHT PROJECTION: Dazzler possesses a body-wide energy field that controls the energy levels of the outer electron shells of her body in such a way as to cause the cascaded release of photons. However, she must concentrate and will the light to leave her body, lest it 'leak'. She can manipulate it into lasers, or simply dazzling bursts of light akin to fireworks.

APPLICATION My name is Alison. Alison Blaire. And this is my diary of after the apocalypse. Once upon a time, I was a singer. My mother was, too. She gave me her necklace after she left dad and I've kept it ever since - but she's long gone now. So is dad. I've kept my spirits up even since that, and despite my initial hesitance to join the X-Men, it's been beneficial for the most part.
For the most part.
Certainly it's not what I expected from my life - from learning I could control sound to ending my education at high school, I could've done something entirely different...but I didn't want to. I suppose I still don't, though I don't have much of a choice now. Perhaps I never really did once I discovered my powers.
Of course, I was free to make my own choices. From being an agent of SHIELD for a while to being part of the X-Men once more, I've had more than enough choices to go through, but I've still felt the feeling that there's much I haven't accomplished yet. Much that I need to see, need to do. And now I need to save the world. Again.
Maybe now people will knock off the Disco Dazzler moniker. More than enough of that.
